Country Sausage Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound L&S country sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced onions (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the country sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Add the cubed bread, shredded cheddar cheese, cooked sausage, and optional bell peppers and onions to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
