Remembering Inti: A Shining Light at L&S Artisan Meats
Dear L&S Artisan Meats community,
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of a significant loss within our L&S family. On Monday October 2nd, we received the devastating news that our dear friend and dedicated employee, Inti, passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. He was only 27 years old, and his untimely departure has left a void that words cannot adequately express.
Inti was more than just an employee; he was an integral part of our L&S family. Over the years, he took on various roles within our business, from manager to trainer to pig house builder, and he became one of the most trusted workers on our farm. He had a deep understanding of every aspect of our operations, making him the future of L&S Artisan Meats. Inti’s dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to excellence were evident in everything he did.
Inti hailed from the surrounding community of La Calera, and he embodied the spirit of our farm’s commitment to supporting local communities. He worked alongside his wife, his younger brother, and a group of cousins, making L&S Artisan Meats a true family business. Our hearts ache for his family, particularly his two young children, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
As we grapple with the shock and sadness of Inti’s passing, we are faced with the challenging task of moving forward without his presence. The loss of someone so young and full of potential is especially difficult to comprehend. The entire L&S team is devastated, and we are leaning on each other for support during this trying time.
As we enter the holiday season, we want to reassure our valued customers that we remain committed to providing the exceptional products and services that you have come to expect from us. Inti was a driving force behind our commitment to excellence, and we will honor his memory by continuing to deliver the high-quality meats and products that have become synonymous with L&S Artisan Meats.
In the Kichwa language of the indigenous community to which Inti belonged, “inti” means “sun.” It is a beautiful reminder of the light that Inti brought into our lives and the warmth of his presence. Every time the sun shines on our farm, making planting, growing, and all other activities possible, we will give thanks to Inti for continuing to watch over us and guide us.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support and condolences we have received from our community and customers. Your kindness and understanding during this difficult time mean the world to us.
In the midst of our grief, we find solace in the knowledge that Inti’s legacy will live on in the work we do every day. We will strive to honor his memory by upholding the values he held dear and continuing to serve our community with love, dedication, and integrity.
Rest in peace, dear Inti, our beloved “sun.” You will forever be in our hearts.
With heavy hearts and eternal gratitude,
The L&S Artisan Meats Family
