Crispy Shake and Bake Pork Chops
🌟 Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside!
Ingredients:
- 4 bone-in L&S pork chops
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch!)
- 2 tbsp cornmeal (optional, adds texture)
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried oregano or thyme
- ½ tsp smoked paprika (for a deeper flavor)
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional, but amazing!)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top (this helps keep the chops crispy).
- In a bowl, whisk the egg (or buttermilk).
- In a large zip-top bag or bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, cornmeal, spices, and Parmesan. Drizzle in olive oil and mix well.
- Coat each pork chop by dipping it in the egg, then placing it in the bag and shaking until fully covered.
- Arrange on the wire rack and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. (Use a meat thermometer – 145°F for juicy pork!)
- Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
