How to Cook Bacon-Wrapped Filet Mignon

Cooking a bacon-wrapped filet mignon combines the rich, tender beef with the smoky, crispy bacon for a deliciously indulgent meal. Here’s a simple and delicious way to cook it:

Ingredients

  • 1 package of L&S bacon wrapped filet steaks
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional: fresh rosemary or garlic for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the Steaks:
Season both sides of the filet mignon steaks generously with salt and pepper. If you like, you can also add a sprinkle of garlic powder or fresh herbs like rosemary for added flavor.

  3. Sear the Steaks (Stovetop):
In an oven-safe skillet (cast-iron works great), heat olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the bacon-wrapped filets and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side until the bacon starts to crisp up and the steaks are browned. Be careful not to burn the bacon. If you’d like, you can add fresh garlic or a sprig of rosemary to the pan for extra flavor while searing.

  4. Finish in the Oven:
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 5-10 minutes (depending on the thickness of the steaks and your desired doneness). For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130-135°F (54-57°C). For medium, aim for 140-145°F (60-63°C). Use a meat thermometer for the most accurate results.

  5. Rest the Steaks:
Remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving. This helps the juices redistribute, keeping the steak tender and juicy.

  6. Serve:
Serve the bacon-wrapped filets with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a simple green salad.
