Beef Stroganoff Recipe
This classic Beef Stroganoff is a creamy, comforting dish made with tender beef, onions, and mushrooms in a rich, flavorful sauce. It’s perfect served over egg noodles or rice.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 1 package L&S Beef Strips
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced (cremini or white)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp mustard (optional)
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup L&S beef stock
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 cup sour cream (or Tony natural greek yogurt works great here in EC where sour cream is hard to find)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg noodles or rice (for serving)
Instructions
-
Cook the Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef strips and sear them quickly until browned on all sides (about 2-3 minutes).
- Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
-
Cook the Vegetables:
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms.
- Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened and browned. Add the garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
-
Make the Sauce:
- Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir to combine.
- Slowly add the beef stock, whisking to avoid lumps.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 3-5 minutes.
-
Combine Beef and Sour Cream:
- Return the beef to the skillet.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and stir in the sour cream or greek yogurt. Mix until the sauce is smooth, and the beef is coated.
- Season with salt, pepper, and mustard powder (if using) to taste.
-
Serve:
- Serve the Beef Stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice, and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
This creamy beef stroganoff is a comforting, rich meal that’s quick enough for a weeknight but indulgent enough for a special dinner. Enjoy!
